Hope, James F. "Jim" WYNANTSKILL James F. "Jim" Hope, 68, died suddenly of natural causes on October 3, 2015. Born in Troy, he was the son of Marjorie McNamara Hope and the late Leo J. Hope. A graduate of Sacred Heart School and Troy High School, class of 1965, he was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving in Viet Nam as a crew chief on the Phantom 4 at Tan Son Nhat Air Base. Jim was a long time employee of the Watervliet Arsenal. A communicant of Sacred Heart Church, he served as head usher there. He loved Nascar, pro wrestling, and Civil War reenactments. Jim was a member of the American Legion Post #1489 in Wynantskill. He raised three wonderful daughters and was an adoring grandfather. Survivors include his daughters, Patricia (Adam) Lewis, Kelly (Brad) Louis, and Colleen (Art Levenson) Hope; three grandchildren, Lindsey Lewis and Emalyn and Andrew Louis; his siblings, William Hope, Kathleen A. Hope, and Robert Hope; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Jim was predeceased by a brother, Thomas P. Hope. Those who remember him will know he would help anyone in any way he could, he always had a smile on his face, and led a Godly life by example. The funeral will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2015, at 9:30 a.m., from the Daniel D. Purcell Funeral Home, 510 Pawling Ave. at Parkview Court, Troy and at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, Troy, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Troy. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home Wednesday from 4 until 8 p.m. Donations may be made to Sacred Heart School, 310 Spring Ave., Troy, NY 12180.
