Survived By: She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Ron Schroeder; daughters: Mindy (Chad) Kragness, Erin (Steve) Frommes; and 5 grandchildren: Joey Kragness (16), Cory Kragness (14), Collin Frommes (11), Eli Frommes (9) and Alex Kragness (8). She is also survived by her sister, Sandy (Ed) Speicher of Phoenix, AZ and brother, Andy Camen of Tuscon, AZ; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Helene was born to Harry and Reva (Felsot) Camen on October 12th, 1949, in Detroit, MI. At age 9, her family moved to Tucson, AZ. She graduated from Paloverde High School with the class of 1967. She met her husband, Ron Schroeder, when he was stationed in Tucson at the Davis-Monthan Airforce Base. On December 14, 1968 the young couple was married in Paynesville, MN and they were blessed with two daughters: Mindy and Erin. In 1979, they moved, with their two daughters to Many Point Scout Camp northwest of Park Rapids where they lived and worked for 30 years. After retirement, they moved to their current home near Park Rapids. Helene was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Two Inlets where she was a member of the Ladies Guild. For many years, Helene was also involved with the Park Rapids Relay for Life. Helene was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Reva Camen of Tuscon. Helene was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed camping and took great joy in spending time with her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed, especially for her sense of humor, love of games, great hugs and big smiles.
