Barbara Willison

In Loving Memory of Barbara Coatsworth by Ed Honea
Barbara Ann Coatsworth (Willison/Honea), 63, passed away on December 23, 2013 in an automobile accident while traveling from Marana, AZ to visit family in California. She was born on January 18, 1950 in Oil City, PA.

Barbara grew up in Tucson, AZ and graduated from Palo Verde High School. She attended the University of Arizona.

Barbara worked at Evergreen Air Center and Marana Elementary before spending 22 years with the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) during which time she made many lifelong friends. She retired in November of this year.

In 1970 Barbara married Ed Honea. They were married for 16 years. Ed is the Mayor of Marana, AZ. Together they had two children, Whitney and Tiffany.

Barbara married William Coatsworth in September of 1992.

Upon her retirement Barbara and Bill were planning to travel between family and friends. Her plans for the future centered mostly on spending time with her three grandsons, laughing and loving, and toasting life with her toes in the sand.

Barbara’s many friends played a large, happy role in her life. She looked forward to coffee, cocktails, and years of wonderful conversation.

Barbara Coatsworth was a giving Nana, instant and dedicated friend, consumer of cheap wine, professional shopper/returner, Candy Crush guru, official supporter of what you are doing on Facebook, number one fan of Whit and Tiffany, collector of pink flamingos, benevolent princess, widely known for her world-famous Velveeta enchiladas, frequenter of Starbucks, shoe aficionado, provider of pajamas and toothbrushes, scotch tape waster, life of the party, wingless angel, and charitable soul. She would have liked you. A lot.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Dorothy Willison

Barbara is survived by her husband Bill; her son Whit (Tricia) Honea, daughter Tiffany (Wynter) Phoenix, and stepson J. Scott Coatsworth (Mark Guzman); grandchildren Atticus and Zane Honea (10,7) and Greyson Phoenix (4 months); sister Karen (Gary) Luxenberg and brothers Jack, Bob, Jeff, and Todd Smith. She is also survived by her birth parents Jack and Lois Smith.
