Attendance Office, no questions asked.)

Earned my Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education, with a Major in
Social Studies, in 1973, from the University of Arizona.
I did my student teaching with Seniors at Rincon High School,
in the Fall of 1973, Subject-Social Studies "American Problems."


I went on to earn my Master's Degree in Spec.Ed. in 1976, and a second
Master's degree in Counseling & Guidance, in 1979, both
from the University of Arizona.

I have lived and taught in several states:
ARIZONA, NEW MEXICO, TEXAS, COLORADO

I have lived here in Colorado Springs, Colorado for 23 years,
and I RETIRED FROM TEACHING SPECIAL EDUCATION & GUIDANCE COUNSELING (KINDERGARTEN-12TH GRADE) IN 2011. I am now employed as a Tutor for Homebound students, for School Dist. #11, here in the Springs.
I love kids, and just have to continue working with them!

From 1975-1976 I taught Special Education at Lake Havasu HIgh School,
LAKE HAVASU CITY, ARIZONA

I came back to Tucson in '76, and taught Special Education at Flowing Wells High, and also Jr. High.
Then was hired by Catalina Foothills S.D., and taught Special Ed.
at Orange Grove Junior High, for 4 years.

IN AUGUST OF 1982 I DECIDED IT WAS TIME TO MOVE TO THE MOUNTAINS AND "GET SNOW," SO I RE-LOCATED TO LOS ALAMOS, NEW MEXICO, (site of National Lab), and taught Jr. High Special Education there for 3 years. ABSOLUTELY LOVED BEING UP IN THE MOUNTAINS!!

I met my husband-to-be in Los Alamos, married in 1985, and because he was in the Air Force, we moved to, and I taught in WICHITA FALLS, and also ABILENE, TEXAS, through 1990.

From 1990-1991 I served as the DISTRICT GUIDANCE COUNSELOR-K-12th grades, for Eula Independent School District, outside of Abilene, Texas.
I had 500 kids on my caseload (the whole district), and absolutely loved my job!!

In August of 1991, I was divorced, and accepted a position
teaching High School Special Education here in Colorado Springs.
Our PALO VERDE 1969 classmate, LINDA KOPMAN, put me up during
the summer of 1991, so I could interview for teaching jobs here!! Moved here in August of 1991, with my 3 year old son, and have
been here ever since (23 years). I've been teaching Elementary Special Ed. since 1992, and retired in 2011. But, I love the kiddos, so I am still doing Homebound
Tutoring, and Substitute Teaching occasionally for School Dist. #11 here, in Colorado Springs.

I was born in Okinawa during the Korean War.
(Dad was an Air Force pilot).
We were stationed in Illinois, Nebraska,
and then Newfoundland, Canada, for four years,
before Dad got his final Air Force orders to go to Tucson.

LOVED NEWFOUNDLAND, AND HOPE TO GO BACK THERE SOMETIME!!

I've made many trips to Chicago, and the surrounding areas to
visit Aunts, Uncles, and many Cousins, who still live there.
Spent Christmas of 2019 in Chicago, with my Cousin, Karen.

Here in Colorado I've visited Breckenridge, Estes Park, Aspen, etc.
Also have been to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and spent a week
vacationing in the Taos Ski Valley, New Mexico.

I have traveled many parts of New Mexico and Colorado on my trips to visit family back in Tucson, and Los Alamos.

ALL MY LIFE HAVE BEEN AN AVID LOVER OF ALL CREATURES; GREAT AND SMALL.

I HAVE OWNED SEVERAL RESCUE DOGS, AND ALSO RESCUE KITTIES!
ALSO CURRENTLY HAVE AN IGUANA, FRED, WHO I'VE
RAISED SINCE HE WAS A BABY, ABOUT 4 INCHES LONG.
FRED IS NOW ABOUT 6 FEET LONG!
HE'S VERY SWEET, BUT DOESN'T SAY MUCH!

I MAKE SURE TO WATCH AND/OR ATTEND AS MANY DOG SHOWS AS I CAN, especially Westminster, and I study up on the various breeds!

I work with the local Basset Hound Rescue Club (High Country Basset Rescue)
and have been "Owned" by three Basset Hounds since 1996.

My Basset Hound, Ruby, just crossed over "The Rainbow Bridge" a month ago,
after reaching the ripe old age of 15. ("Ancient" for Basset Hounds.)

I ALSO LOVE GARDENING and have produced "Killer" zucchini, pumpkins, cucumbers, turnips, and green beans. For Christmas I bake zucchini and pumpkin bread, and put up jars of pickled zucchini to give as gifts.

I AM A SINGER-SANG IN THE "UNIVERSITY SINGERS" CHOIR at the University of Arizona, for 4 years, as an undergraduate.
Have been in several choirs, in Tucson, and elsewhere.
I love listening to movie music, and Broadway musicals.

LOVE TO COOK; and have taken Greek cooking lessons!

I READ AND STUDY WHATEVER I CAN ABOUT SCIENCE, NATURE, HISTORY; YOU NAME IT!
