Joe died even before he got to enjoy retirement. It was a good thing that he enjoyed his work as much as he did. His oldest grandson, Kevin, remembers playing golf with "Papa" and how much fun they had together. The rest of the grandchildren were too young to remember him much, but they have heard the stories and seen the pictures, and each one of them thinks that they know him. Our two daughters, Erin and Susan, have many fond memories of our days in Las Vegas, Huntington Beach and Scottsdale. I will never regret a day of the nearly 45 years that we were married. Our lives were rich with travel, camping, volunteering, and raising our two daughters. We lived in many homes--rented and owned--and made each one them our own. He would have loved being near his family as we grew older. We all miss his jokes and wry comments.
