Stuart Allen Hanson 48, passed away unexpectedly on November 24, 2011. Stuart was a loving and faithful husband to his wife, Caroline Hanson of Tucson, Arizona and a devoted and caring father to his four children, Todd, Heather, Jason and Kaitlin Hanson. He was a good and honorable son to his parents, Rodney and Verlee Hanson and was a loyal brother to his sister, Heidi (Galen) Kryger of Tucson and his two brothers, Sid (Carrie) Hanson of Overland Park, Kansas and Darren (Nadine) Hanson of Tucson. He was also a wonderful uncle to Christopher, Kyle, Spencer, Marissa, Morgan, Lauren and Catherine. Stuart was preceded in death by his mother, Verlee Hanson. Stuart was born on November 17, 1963 in Boulder, Colorado. His family moved to Tucson in 1967. Upon graduating from Sabino High School in 1982, he went on to attend college at Northern Arizona University and graduated with a degree in criminal justice. He then proceeded to earn a Masters Degree in Management from the University of Phoenix. After graduation he served the Tucson community by holding several positions in the law enforcement field. He then proceeded to build a career with the Union Pacific Railroad, working his way from a switchman/brakeman to a locomotive engineer at the time of his passing. Stuart loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, shooting and archery and liked sharing these activities with his family. He also enjoyed baseball and spent countless hours helping his sons and their baseball teams train and practice. He was also a fitness enthusiast who liked going to the gym, lifting weights and riding his bicycle. Stuart held his family above all else. He dedicated his life to the health, success and happiness of each member of his family. He delighted in sharing life with his soul-mate, Caroline, and building a family around their love. His pride and joy was watching each of his children flourish, and he gave all of himself to help them succeed. Stuart was a wonderful and caring husband, father and son. He always thought of his family and others before himself. His strength, support, guidance, and steadfast love will be greatly missed.
