Steve A. Smith was born on October 20, 1953 in Wichita, Kansas, to Arthur and Hazel (Fackler) Smith. He was reared and educated in Tulsa, Oklahoma and graduated with the Tulsa East Central High School Class of 1971. He was married on August 6, 1971 in Gainesville, Texas to Debra Talley. He began his career in the petroleum industry as a draftsman with Masur Dalbert Williams in Tulsa, OK and later he spent 23 years with Williams Brothers Engineering also in Tulsa, OK. For the past 10 plus years, he has served as Drafting Supervisor for Matrix Service. He was a member of the Baptist Tabernacle in Collinsville, Oklahoma, where over the years he served as Deacon and on several other committees. He also served 10 years as a past chairman for the Collinsville Rural Fire Protection District Board of Directors. He enjoyed a variety of pastimes including: fishing; hunting; raising his cattle and spending time with his grandkids. He passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2011 in Collinsville, Oklahoma at the age of 57 years.
