
James W Steele, 70, originally from Tulsa, OK and resident of Loveland, OH, joined the heavenly angels March 4, 2023. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Sharon; his mother, Alpha Ruth Steele; brother, Gerald (Jo Ella) Steele; brothers-in-law Michael Brent (Mary Jo) Ford, and Roy David Ford, Jr.; nephews, Brandon Lee (April) Steele, Dustin James Steele, Roy Mitchell (Vanessa) Opitz; great nephews, Jaxon Kerby, Greyson Steele, Connor, Cora and Clara Opitz and many friends who became family. He was preceded in death by his dad, Herman E. Steele. Jim held both business and accounting degrees from Oklahoma State University. His passion for continuous learning led to a successful career in finance which crossed over to his personal life where his market expertise allowed him to be a financial mentor. Jim had many joys in life, most dear were the young people that he met and supported through guidance and love. He was also a huge New York Yankee fan, Oklahoma State lifetime Alumni member and attended many college games in Stillwater. He developed a love of trains from his Uncle Bud which carried him throughout his life. Jim was a member of the South Park Rail Society, built model train layouts, and rode many historical trains across the US and Canada. He inherited his love of coin collecting from his Dad and it remained a hobby for 60 years. In more recent years, Jim and Sharon have tapped into their adventurous side traveling to the Galapagos, Cuba, Greece, Turkey, Canada, Alaska, Baja California and the Caribbean.
A celebration of his life will be held April 6, 2023, at the Cincinnati Nature Center, Groesbeck Estate, 11:30 - 3:00, (remembrance at noon with buffet lunch), 4949 Tealtown Rd. Milford, OH 45150.
There will also be a celebration of his life in Tulsa May 6, 2023, 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Camp Loughridge, Temple Conference Center, 4900 Oak Leaf Drive, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Remembrance tribute at 1:30 p.m.
