I've known David since we were 2-3 years old. When we were in first grade, he ran up to me in the line and kissed me on the cheek and ran off! The other kids in line had to tell me who it was! David told my mother one afternoon in front of his house he was going to marry me ( I believe we were 3 or 4 years old, I just remember I hadn't learned how to ride a bike yet and was strapped to her's). My Mother told this story to him over the years and he'd just laugh. I spoke with David right before he passed. He was in good spirits and was very ill. I will miss my classmate and neighboor of all these years. I still see his Dad working hard in his yard whenever I go home to visit.
I knew David since 8th grade. we had some fun times. Especially our Jam sessions.. The talent show was a blast. Coy and Bryan Corbin, guitars,David vocals and keyboard, along with the Iams brothers drums and bass. I have wondered about David all these years. It saddens me to know he has passed. My prayers and sympathy to all his family and close freinds. He will be missed.
I also went to school with David since 1st grade at Cooper. I remember when he played Orange Blossom Special on the fiddle with Mr. Coble. Sorry to hear that he died so young.
David was one of my favorite people. He was always kind to me and we joked a lot. I can remember tying shoe laces to desk, when someone was sleeping in class, it’s hard to walk when you stand up in a hurry with your shoes tied to your desk. I also enjoyed his fiddle, after all these years it still seems like he was one of the best.
I learned of David's death from my parents (since I don't live in Tulsa anymore). They remembered him and passed the info to me. I also went to school with David beginning in Kindergarten at Cooper. I can remember our class pictures with him since K and I have pictures of our 6th grade graduation picnic. So sad to know he has passed.
David sat behind me in History, Mr. Seargents class. He was so funny!! He was usually a bit stoned & whenever Mr. S would play pocket pool he would talk & laugh really loud. We got sent out several times. He was always kind and fun to be around.
RIP - My prayers are with his family! Tina Anne Thomas-Alderson
I was saddened to hear of David's passing while I was in Texas. I had known him since we were 5 years old. I met him at the neighborhood pool the summer before kindergarten. I always enjoyed listening to him mess around on the fiddle and keyboards. I was able to see him from time to time when I returned to Tulsa for weekend visits and will cherish all the memories over the years. I recently found a bunch of "old" photos of quite a few of us from Cooper, Peary, Foster and EC. I am working on uploading them to my profile and Facebook for all of us to enjoy. Debbie (Towry) Hamby
I had no idea David had passed...my memory of David was sitting with him in orchestra at Foster and playing this game where we would slap each other with a comb on our wrists...he was great competition in class and I was always sad that he dropped out of orchestra...he was a lot of fun! Play your fiddle in heaven bud! My deepest condolences.
