Sam Wayne Rutledge, aged 46 years, 6 months and 3 days, passed away on November 20, 2011 at his home in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born on May 17, 1965 in Atlanta, Georgia to Gary Wayne Rutledge and Darnell “Dee” (Bardin Rutledge) Heavin. He is survived by his loving wife, Carol (Burnett) Rutledge; son, Benjamin Robert Rutledge; his mother, Darnell (Dee) Heavin and husband Jerry, his father, Gary Rutledge and wife, Elaine, sister, KimberLee (Rutledge) Barnum and husband, Doug and James Heavin. Aunts and uncles include, AC and Kay Bardin; Harold and Dianne Bailey, Don Bardin, Jerry and Virginia (Rutledge) McGuire, Art and Pattie (Rutledge) Lane, and Tommi Rutledge. Cousins Steve Bardin, Melanie Bardin, Tiffany Bailey, Lori Rapp, Heather Hicks, Scott McGuire, Brent McGuire, Jessica Lane, Hunter Lane, and Julie Ann Grey. He is proceeded in death by paternal grandparents, Robert and Ione Rutledge, maternal grandparents, Calvin and Bernice Bardin and cousin Joe Bailey. Sam accepted Christ as his Savior at age 13. He was baptized and became a member of Trinity Baptist Church. After marriage, he and his family served God at Calvary Baptist Church. Hobbies and other interests came after his commitments to God and his family. Sam graduated from East Central High School, Tulsa Community College and was pursuing his Bachelor’s degree at OSU. Sam served as Secretary of SIU, Oklahoma Claims Assoc. The family rejoices to know that he is with his Lord and Saviour.
