A few years back, I met the killers (can't remember his name) sister at a store. We got to talking and she asked me where I went to high school, when I told her she asked what year I graduated. Upon receiving that information, she told me her brother killed Allen Potter. She said he was in prison of course and was very upset about his actions and was a born again Christian. She said the party was at her house during school hours and everyone was drunk. His parents were at work and did not know about the party and he did not want the home to look bad when they returned, which included eating food. When Allen got the popsicle he freaked thinking he was going to get into trouble, and he did at the expense of Allen.

I had heard the same about the party, everyone drinking and that there was an argument over him eating the popsicle and because he wouldn't put it up he shot him. The guys name if I remember correctly was Nelson Puerta. I remember looking him up in the yearbook after I heard about Alan and there was a candid picture of Nelson with another guy and the caption was "armed and dangerous". Really sad!

Okay guys, sorry my bad. You're right. (enjoy the moment, a woman admitted she was wrong, ha ha ha!!) :o)
I did just look it up in the yearbook and it is Nelson that is in the pic with him.

I work with a guy who is Jason's brother. Or cousin, can't remember which.

He's been almost let out on parole many times, but Potter's family shows up every time to make sure he doesn't get out.

The prison apparently lets him leave with a truck unsupervised to run errands in town. He's never driven a car (apparently), so it's his only chance to drive.

I REMEMBER SEEING ALAN AT SUMMER SCHOOL. HE JUST GOTTEN BACK FROM GERMANY AND HE WAS IN REAL GREAT SPIRITS. A FUN GUY. I USED TO WORK WITH A GIRL AT ST JOHN WHO USED TO WORK WITH JASON SULLIVENT'S MOTHER. MY FRIEND WOULD TELL ME ABOUT THIS WOMAN FROM HER JOB WHO WAS SO DEPRESSED ALL THE TIME. SHE FOUND OUT WHY AND MY FRIEND BEGAN WRITING TO JASON. APPARENTLY,JASON HAS A PYSCHOLOGY DEGREE AND SOME OTHER DEGREES. HE DOES NOT LOOK THE SAME AS HE DID IN SCHOOL. HE LOOKS REALLY OLDER THAN HE REALLY IS. JASON WAS WANTING MY FRIEND TO COME UP AND SEE HIM OR SEND PICTURES,BUT SHE QUIT WRITING WHEN SHE GOT MARRIED. IT IS VERY SAD TO LOSE YOUR LIFE OVER A DAMN ICE CREAM BAR!! I UNDERSTAND THAT JASON TOO, IS LET OUT OF PRISON TO TALK TO OTHER PRISON SYSTEMS. INTERESTING, HUH?

Whoa guys! Glad someone cleared this up. Jason Sullivan was the one who shot Allen. Nelson Puerta is my brother and he and Jason used to be good friends. For some reason they were mad at each other the day of the shooting and my brother (Nelson) did not go to the party. The picture shown in the yearbook was of Nelson and Jason, and ironically the caption did read "armed and dangerous" but MY BROTHER, NELSON, DID NOT SHOOT ANYONE. He and Jason have talked a couple of times during his imprisonment and Nelson still keeps in touch with the family. Yes, this was very sad... tks for clearing up the facts

I totally agree with Josh on this one. I think Allen was a very nice guy, however, he did love to pick on people. Not in a mean way, but just to be obnoxious. That was just the way he was.
