Shannon was taken from us way too soon by a drunk driver. He died doing what he did best helping others before himself, a relative said. The worst fault that he had was trying to make other people happy, said Sheila Lacey, Shannon's mother. "He always put whatever plans he had aside for others." Sheila Lacey said Shannon Lacey who had two sons, Ethan, 9, and Corbin, 13 never wanted to disappoint people and always shifted his personal plans to suit others. The boys spent a lot of time fishing and swimming with their father, she said. Sheila Lacey said: "It's a very sad thing. My son died trying to help someone else, and that sums up his life. The way he died didn't surprise me in the least bit."

I have to say that when I first read about the accident on a Tulsa news site I worried that one of the victims could have been someone I knew. And then when I saw on Michele's myspace that in fact I did know someone it really tore me up.I remember Shannon being the jokster. I went to school with him since 7th grade (but it could have as far back as 5th grade). He always had a smile and was such a great guy.
His death made a huge impact on the way I view drinking and driving now. Remember call a cab, call a friend but what ever you do dont drive drunk.

what a trip this phone call was to get. My brother david, called to let me know.. i was shocked. Shannon was such a good friend to me growing up. we shared a lot of good memories and thanks to myspace. ( www.myspace.com/bnice2cats ) we were able to talk about old times over the last couple of years. the turn out for his funeral was a perfect representation of how well liked he was... R.I.P my friend.tracy woodall
