Dusty passed away on October 3, 2004 from Asthma related condition. He is survived by 1 son.

Dusty spent most of his time on the road setting up stages for concerts. He set up mikes and stages from everyone from George Strait, Metallica, Cher, Tracy Lawrence plus many more musicians and groups.
