In Memory

Lance Barlow VIEW PROFILE

Lance Barlow attended Union Public Schools from kindergarten all the way through graduation in 1990.  We all remember him not only as an excellent athlete but as a student leader.  After high school, Lance attended Oklahoma State Univeristy where he earned his degree in Education and eventually returned to Union as a science teacher and a coach.  Lance excelled in his teaching career and was an inspiration to both his students and the staff with whom he worked.

In 1997, Lance was diagnosed with cancer.  The fighter that we all knew him to be, Lance faced this challenge with courage and determination, continuing to teach and coach at Union until his passing in December, 1998.    In September, 2001, to honor Lance's memory, the Board of Education of Union Public Schools dedicated the loop drive in front of Union High School as "Lance Barlow Drive" to create a lasting memorial to Lance Barlow--the student, teacher, coach and friend to us all.
