Kyle David Knapp, 45, of Highlands Ranch, CO, passed away Monday, March 13, 2017 in Oklahoma.A memorial service with Military Honors will be held at Floral Haven Funeral Home, 6500 S 129th Street, Broken Arrow, OK 74012. This service will be Monday, March 20th at 3pm.The family suggests that donations be made to the Tulsa branch of the Boxer Rescue of Oklahoma in honor of Kyle and his beloved boxer, Mike. Without them, Kyle and Mike never would have been reunited. Tax deductible donations can be made via their website at tbro.org.Kyle was born September 21, 1971 in Sherman, Texas to Dwane William Benton and Judy Anna (Halverson) Knapp. After graduating from Union High School in 1990, Kyle proudly served as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps. He served with Charlie Company, 2nd Tank Battalion at Camp Lejeune, NC from September 1990 until his Honorable Discharge in September 1998. He often spoke fondly about this time in his life and of the many brothers he had the privilege of serving with. In April 1998, Kyle married Christine Ewing, becoming an instant father to three children, Erica Danielle Ewing, Andrew Gilstrap, and Kenedie-Madison Knapp. Later that year, another son, Kyle Dwane Knapp was born. He was a devoted and loving father to all of his children. Kyle graduated from The University of Tulsa with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science degree in 2006. He began his career at Hertz Corporation in Oklahoma City, OK as a developer, and ultimately advanced to Sr Engineer, Software Dev & Engineering for Comcast. Kyle enjoyed fitness, health, working out and playing softball with his family in Colorado. Everyone will always remember him as an avid sports fan. His favorite teams included the Philadelphia Eagles, Philadelphia Flyers, and USA Soccer.Kyle is survived by his four children, Erica Ewing, Andrew Gilstrap, Kenedie-Madison Knapp, and Kyle Knapp of Oklahoma City, OK; his mother, Judy Anna Knapp of Tulsa, OK; his brothers Christopher Knapp and Chuck Simmons of Tulsa, OK and Kevin Knapp of Franktown, CO; sister in law, Lori Knapp; nephew Zane Knapp, and nieces Alaina and Laura Knapp of Franktown, CO. He was preceded in death by his father, Dwane Knapp.Blessed be the Lord, my rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle. Psalms 144
