After high school, I went to The University of Tulsa where I graduated with a degree in Business - specifically in Marketing & Management. I LOVED TU, and - much like high school (old habits die hard) - I got involved in everything on campus, from Chi Omega sorority to the rowing team to student government, etc. I am self-diagnosed ADD, so I can't sit still! Ha ha
While at TU, I began volunteering for the American Cancer Society at an event called Relay For Life. My volunteer position turned into a staff position as I was graduating from TU, and I've been with the ACS ever since. I love it! I started in fundraising/volunteer management, then became the Communications Director for the state of Oklahoma, and then 2 years ago was named the Community Development Director for Eastern OK. It's a crazy, crazy job that keeps me busy, but I love working with our volunteers & my staff... Plus it's a feel-good job, so when you get home at the end of the day, you know you've made a difference!
Outside of school & work, I just like to spend time with friends & family, work on my house - which I bought in 2007, and travel, among other things. I try to go someplace new each year, which has been awesome! I actually have been over to see Karmen Crnjar (who graduated with us in 2000) in Croatia twice since we graduated - that was what got me hooked on traveling! I also teach Jazzercise on the side here in Tulsa. I know it sounds funny, but it's fun and it keeps me in shape... Plus my Jazzer-friends are like my second family!
I think that pretty much sums it all up... I'm really enjoying life & I'm looking forward to catching up with everyone else at our reunion!
