Rachael was one of my best friends at Memorial and was also my maid of honor in my wedding. She was always there to help. Also to pick me up late on Friday nights after ballet rehearsal. We would stay out late with Claudia and Jessica! So many memories! I even named my oldest daughter after sweet Rachael.
One of my fondest and outlandish memories in high school was the time that Rachel, Tiffany Story, Kendall Pitcock and I roadtriped one random summer day to Padre Island from Tulsa in Rachel's car. Was her car an Oldsmobile with T-tops? It was something like that. The best part is we were broke and Rachel had her dad's Texaco gas card, so we stopped off at every Texaco station along the way and bought "groceries" as needed...Slim Jims, beer and potato chips mostly. I remember it was a free for all. Rachel didn't care what we bought or how much she was charging. It was all on her dad! haha. I don't think we even spent the night in Padre. I'll have to ask Tiffany if she remembers, but I recall that we drove down, walked around the beach and drove back! Is that even possible in a day? I'm pretty sure none of our parents had a clue either way. We got away with so much back then.
