James Leroy Gladson Obituary

Jim "James Leroy" Gladson, 69, of Tulsa, OK, has teed off for his final round on November 5, 2023, leaving a hole-in-one-sized void in our hearts. He has traded his golf clubs for angel wings and is now perfecting his swing in the heavenly fairways.

Jim was a devoted father who selflessly dedicated his time to his children's athletic programs. His love for sports extended beyond the sidelines, and in his retirement years, he found solace in playing weekly rounds of golf with his close-knit of buddies! Spending time in the stands for his grandchildren and continues to follow so many of the former teammates of all the past time leagues.

Surviving Jim are his beloved wife, Renelle Gladson, he leaves behind his daughter Kendra Gladson and partner Kimberly Rhodes, his son Jake Gladson and his wife Haley. He was also blessed with the joy of being a doting grandpops to Aurora and Lena Gladson. Jim will be fondly remembered by his sister-in-law Rhonda Hoover, brother-in-law Steve Hoover, nephew Cody Wagoner, niece Maggie Hoover, sister-in-law Donna Still, brother-in-law Butch Still, and a host of other family members and friends. In addition to his immediate family, Jim was preceded in death by his father, Norman Gladson, his mother, Delores Upshaw, his uncle Leroy Knight, and his beloved grandparents, Irene and Harry Knight. He also reunited with his grandchild, Hope, and their cherished family dog, Spaz, who brought immeasurable joy to their lives.

In his earthly career, Jim made a splash at Fizzo Water, for 27 years. When he wasn't sinking putts, he spent his time pursuing various hobbies. Whether it was sinking pins at the bowling alley, sliding discs at shuffleboard, or aiming for the bullseye at the dartboard, Jim was always ready for a little friendly competition. His passion for games was a testament to his witty and playful nature.

A grand celebration of Jim's glorious journey will be held on Friday, November 10th, at 11:00 AM, where he will be remembered at Simple Church located at 5900 S Union, Tulsa, OK 74107. Dress code? Bright and cheerful attire, because Jim's zest for life was a contagious rainbow of colors of golf shirts.

Jim Gladson was a true legend, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, love, and unforgettable punchlines. As we bid him farewell, let's raise our glasses and remember the words that always brought a smile to our faces, "Life's a game, so let's make it a hole-in-one!" May his spirit forever inspire us to play our best on the course of life. The tee box is yours Jim!
