Stella died of natural causes on January 16, 2002. She was survived by her family members, Jim and daughter Alvanna Scott. She was 89 yrs old. She lived in Livingston, TX.
Tupelo Children's Mansion from 1964-June 15, 1970 My mother enjoyed her years as matron the girls. Her prayers for those girls and for the mansion live on. She was a prayer warrior and gave her life to God. She touched many lives and was loved by many. Her memory will live for evermore in our hearts. We look forward to being with her on the other side of this life.

I have so many wonderful memories of Aunt Stella. She was such an inspiration to me. She always woke the girls every morning by coming down the hall singing "Rise and Shine and Give God the Glory," and then had prayer with us before we started our day. She always had time for us, and especially when we needed someone to talk to, she listened and prayed with us. She was the best!! She was the "Mother" in my life. I really miss her, but I know someday I will see her again. I cherish every memory I have of Aunt Stella. She will always be "MY HERO" in life. I just hope I can be like her in all ways,even though I know I am not...but maybe someday. I LOVE YOU, AUNT STELLA!!!
