Comments:

My two brothers, (John & Nick) and I came to TCM in March of 1973. We left in Dec. of 1979. I have been living in Longview, TX since high school. I got married May 23, 1987 to Kevin Walpole. I own a business called SEW BLESSED as a self employed contractor, and have contracted to Westlake Chemical Division for 22yrs. My husband is self-employed as well in the oil field business. So Uncle Sam LOVES us. My two older kids are on their own, and I still have one daughter at home although they are all graduated. I'm non-denomination now instead of UPC, but I still put God first in my life. Just changed churches not who I love and serve. For HE is the reason, I am who I am today!!

School Story:

Guess my fondest memories was the singing trips. We always got to travel, although the KFC buckets will always stay in my memory as something to put money in, not chicken. LOL

I remember baby Sheldon so much, the 3 day old baby I got to babysit so much of his first 9 months of life along with the Drury girls, Stephanie & Mindy, until I left TCM. Lots of fun times over at their house.

I just want to remind everyone, I was the GOOD GIRL, so whatever you think you remember otherwise, is just not the truth...Boys...well, so many crushes on these TCM boys...but I knew the rules and tried to abide by them...well, as far as the staff was aware, unlike some of the girls, that used me to pass notes to my brothers and met over at the Drury's place for kissing sessions, some of your secrets will remain in my mind...hmmn...There was ONE staff kid that I openly liked...wonder who that was? fun times for sure...

What years were you at Tupelo?

March 1, 1973 -Dec. 1979 We came to TCM because of my parents being divorced when I was a year old. My Dad had full custody because back in the day, because you lost custody, if you had an affair, that would have made you an unfit Mother. (imagine how many wouldn't have custody today) But my Dad felt he couldn't take care of us and work with us running the roads at 8,9, &10 yrs old while he worked. I feel this was the best decision he could have made for us three kids. My brothers probably have their own opinions on the subject, but for me, God's hand was definitely on my life. I thank God all the time for TCM and how it influenced my life... all the staff, along with superintendents Bro. & Sis. Drury. My only regret, is that Dad came back and got us out of TCM before we graduated. Going back to the same home life made no sense to me. Nothing changed, only we were full grown teen-agers that had more access to run the roads and Dad had no idea how to raise ! Life began on my own at 15, living with different ones until at 16, I got my own place with two jobs to support it. Now you know why TCM played an important part in my life, I wouldn't have survived the grown up world, without them!

Our wedding pic May 23,1987, age 21. We chose to not do a huge hoop lah, that would have terrified me completely. I laugh when I get nervous, and being I laughed all thru the vows, I'd say I was extremely nervous. I was happy we got married in the pastor's study instead of infront of alot of people.
