Audra Drury

TUPELO- Audra Browning Drury, 85, died Thursday, January 17, 2013 at the Martin House at Traceway. She was born January 31, 1927 in Frankfort, IN to William Victor DeFord and Emily Naomi Ozenbaugh DeFord. She graduated from Rossville High School, Rossville, IN and Indiana Business College and later worked as a legal secretary for McKinney, Stringer, and Webster of Oklahoma City, OK. Audra was a devoted farmer’s wife, and actively served the American Red Cross at Ft. Benjamin Harrison in Indianapolis, IN, the Tupelo Children’s Mansion, and volunteered for American Red Cross and New Beginnings International Adoption and Family Services. Audra was a member of First Pentecostal Church of Tupelo. Her passion was her love of God and family. She was affectionately known as “Gram” to multitudes. 

She is survived by one son, Stephen Max Drury (Evelyn) of Florissant, MO and two daughters Joyce Ann Nies (Jack) of Greenwood, IN and Brenda Marie Vinson (Randy) of Tupelo, MS. nine grandchildren, James Drury, Stephenie Drury, Mendy Martin, Ellen Corbeil, Mitchell Tellstrom, Jenny Causey, Thaddaeus Vinson, Erin Francis and Logan Vinson; eleven great grandchildren; and two brothers Larry DeFord (Judy) of Michigantown, IN and Maurice DeFord (Janet) of Chester, VA. She is preceded in death by her parents and three sisters: Norma Rothenberger, Josephine Holmes and Virginia Johnson. 

Pallbearers will be her grandsons: James Drury, Larry Causey, Thad Vinson, Logan Vinson, Wesley Francis, Josh Corbeil, and Daniel Martin.
