Kevin Hunter

Kevin McKay Hunter, 52, died Thursday, February 23, 2017 at his home in Oxford, MS. The memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2017, at 2:00 P.M. at Oxford-University United Methodist Church with Rev. Warren Black and Rev. Eddie Rester officiating. A private family inurnment will follow in the columbarium in St. Peter’s Cemetery. The visitation will be held Monday evening, February 27, 2017, from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. in West Hall at Waller Funeral Home and prior to the service at the church from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M.

Born to Raymond Earl and Mary Lou Cowan Hunter, Mr. Hunter was associated with Mercedes-Benz of Collierville, TN. He was a former general manager of Hunter Volkswagen Mazda and a former insurance agent with Federated Insurance Agency. Kevin was involved in various other business interests including arena football, Nascar racing, casino development and an advertising agency. He was a graduate of the University of Mississippi where he was a member of the ETA Chapter of Sigma Chi Fraternity. As a member of the Oxford-University United Methodist Church, he had been a former leader of the FISH Club (First in Serving Him Youth Group). He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Earl Hunter.

Kevin is survived by his wife, Sloan Stribling Hunter of Oxford, MS; a son, Samuel Stribling Hunter of Oxford, MS; a daughter, Lilly McKay Hunter of Oxford, MS; his mother, Mary Lou Hunter of Oxford, MS; a brother Cowan Hunter and his wife, Connie, of Oxford, MS and two nieces, Sara Grace Hunter and Riley Hunter of Oxford, MS.
