Joel Bank 72; beloved husband, father, Zayde, and friend passed away 10/04/2023. Joel was born and raised in Tuscaloosa, AL. He served 8 years in the US Air Force Reserves. He graduated from Tuscaloosa High School in 1969, earning his undergraduates from Sewanee College & Montevallo, and then earned his masters from the University of Alabama. Joel owned Alabama Hearing Aid Center for over 35 years. He was devoted to his patients, family and friends. Joel was a die hard Alabama Crimson Tide fan & wore his fan gear every day, proudly. His love & devotion for his dearly departed wife, Jacquelyn “Jackie” Bank, was one you read about in novels. He was preceded in death by his late wife, parents, & step son, John Acker. Survivors included his son, Kuper Bank (Tommi), Andrea Smith, Cheryl Acker Dodson (Jeff), Jason Acker (Shea), and Amye Reaves, multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was hardworking, loyal, and kind. We will miss his latkes, his laugh, and his hugs. Our family is holding a private celebration of life. Knowing that Daddy is with Mama now brings us comfort. We can’t thank friends, co workers, and loved ones enough for reaching out during this time. Thank you Daddy for loving us as your own, teaching us integrity, true love; rest easy. ROLL TIDE.
