Nellie Sue Johnson, age 65, of Tuscaloosa, Ala. died July 21, 2016 in Birmingham, Ala. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Tom Strickland. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Home & Cremations, A Dignity Memorial Provider directing. Visitation will be today, Monday, July 25, 2016, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home and one hour prior to service at the funeral home.She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Elsie Spencer, father, James R. Bush, and mother, Odelle S. Bush.Survivors include her husband, Donald R. Johnson; sons, David Johnson (Ashley) and Dustin Johnson (Megan); sister, Donna French (Jerry); brother, James B. Bush; and grandchildren, Cayden Johnson, Gavin Johnson, Seven Johnson, Chloe Johnson, Lois Johnson and Layla Johnson.Nellie Sue Johnson, 65, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at MCICU at UAB. Nellie graduated from Tuscaloosa High School. She then went to work at Bryce Hospital. After working there a while, she then transferred to the Alabama Department of Transportation where she went to work for Chapter 13 where she was employed for nineteen years. She touched the lives of so many over the years with her kindness, laughter and love. She was also a devoted loving wife to Donald for forty-five years and a wonderful mother and mother-in-law to David, Ashley, Dustin and Megan. She also loved and cared a lot for her sister, brother, nieces, nephews and cousins. Her true passion in life were her husband and six grandbabies.Pallbearers will be Cayden Johnson, Gavin Johnson, Brandon Bigham, Brady Bigham, Victor Bigham, James Hoggle and Nicholas Hoggle.Honorary pallbearers are Chapter 13 Trustee, Alex RN, DCH, Eric RN, UAB, MCICU at UAB and Bobby and Judy Swindle.
