REFORM Brenda Latham Hendrix, age 61, of Reform, died Jan. 15, 2012, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 2 p.m. today at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Brannon Pinion officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willowdean Homan Holk (Glenn) and Robert A. Latham; and her husband, Robert Hendrix.

Survivors include her son, Wayne Hendrix (Robina) of House Springs, Mo.; sister, Carol L. Evans (Jerry) of Gordo; grandson, Matt Hendrix, four step-grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren, all of Missouri; niece, Tammy Babb (Mark) and their children, Justin, Heather, and Brooke, niece, Terry Bailey Jones (Bobby) and their daughter, Kayla Bufford (Daniel), and nephew, J.J. Evans (Becky) and their children, Grace and Gage, all of Gordo.

She was born in 1950 at Northington Campus DCH and was a graduate of THS. She attended Livingston University (UWA) and was a member of the Air Force. Brenda loved Jesus and family. Her nieces and nephews and their families were important to her as she was always asking about their grades and activities. She loved writing books and good food. Before her health declined, she was an active resident of Salem Nursing Home, where she was First Alternate in the nursing home beauty pageant. Brenda was an ambassador for God and a special angel!

Pallbearers will be Mark Babb, Bobby Jones, J.J. Evans, Justin Babb, Marlin Homan, Jimmy Latham, Bill Hardy, Darry Evans, and Gary Achterhof.

Honorary pallbearers are friends and staff of Salem Nursing Home, Pat Elliot, R.N., Carolyn and Gary Achterhof, Nan and Bill Hardy, Sharon and Darryl Evans, Mrs. Martha Latham, Doria Jones, Jerry Langdon, Joy Mills, Amanda Bradley, all aunts, uncles, and cousins of the Homan and Latham families in Pickens and Tuscaloosa Counties, and Gordo First United Methodist Church and Hargrove United Methodist Church Women in Gordo.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of West Alabama, 3851 Loop Rd., Tuscaloosa, AL 35404.
