NORTHPORT Benny Howard Parr, age 55, of Northport, died Dec. 15, 2006 at Hospice of West Alabama. Graveside services will be 2 pm. today at Memory Hill Gardens with Rev. Kenny Spencer and Rev. Albert Lyles officiating and Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing.

His daughter, Angela Parr, his parents, Elbert and Beatrice Parr, and his grandparents Howard and Etta Harbin, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his loving wife of 30 years, Donna Parr; daughter, Crystal Parr; sons, Benjamin (Nan) Parr of Opelika, and Timothy (Danielle) Parr of Northport; sister, Anita Southern (Richard) of Pell City; grandchildren, Savannah Parr of Northport, Scott and Aaron Parr of Northport, Kathrine and Andrew Parr of Opelika.

Pallbearers will be Danny Oswalt, Steve, Jerry, Brandon, Harold and Larry Harbin.

Honorary pallbearers are staff of Hospice of West Alabama, members and Bingo players of VFW Post 6022 and Moose Lodge 804, associates of Wal-Mart Northport, Dale Spadoni, and Jamie Sims.

He was a loving husband, father and PaPa.

Our timing is not the same as God's. God was ready for Benny to sing in Heaven. We will miss his singing, sense of humor, and his love for life.

His battle was short but he fought it until his last breath. He so much wanted to see his grandchildren grow up. But we will make sure they will remember him.

He left us with so many wonderful memories and so much love. I love you, Honey, forever.
