Cherry Lynn Thomas passed away in Tuscaloosa on November the 3rd 2022 at the age of 71. Cherry is preceded in death by her parents James L Thomas and Bettie Sue Thomas and sister Donna C Foster. She is survived by her niece Laney Blanchard and nephew Brannon Foster. Cherry was independent, lovely, brilliant, and stoic. She earned a masters in library science and a law degree. After working as a law librarian for the University of Alabama, she lived gracefully for many years with a very difficult disease. We will miss her. She is buried in the Garden of Devotion section of Memory Hill Gardens in Tuscaloosa.

I'm very saddened to learn of Cherry's death. I remember her as a very quiet and pretty young lady. Growing up her house was right next door to University Place Elementary where so many of my oldest friends attended. In fact when Billy Walker, David Suther, Tim Sullivan and I would play football on the front lawn of the school, when it came time for a water break it was at the hose at Cherry's house! I lost touch with Cherry through the years but that was my loss. She will be remembered and missed!

I am sorry to hear about Cherry. I haven't seen her in years but remember her as a good friend during our years from University Place Elementary through THS! Like Mark wrote, her house was next to University Place and was always available to us.
