My heart is broken. Oh, Rayford! You cannot be gone from us so soon! I am in disbelief. I will write memories soon. For now....... I say a prayer of love, and I give great thanks for having known you, my Friend.
Rayford was a great guy and I am proud and blessed to have known him! He is where we all are trying our best to get to. God called Rayford home to be with the angels and all of us who knew him will miss him and I extend all of my condolences to his family. May his great memories comfort You.
Rayford was in many of my classes. When I heard he made Fish Drill at Aggieland (and later Ross Volunteers) I was impressed but had expected no less, he was that kind of guy. I had known the Marshall family for years and all of them were "get it done" people.
When my son made Fish Drill at Aggieland, I had to talk him through some tough weeks but he stuck it out, and I used Rayford as an example of how to stay with something when it looks like there is no way to finish.
I always planned to introduce the two, since my son now lives in Houston, but never could seem to pull it off. One of my major regrets.
Rayford was a great person in every way---Always happy & upbeat. Knew his family well through sports & I never forgot his Dad's truck sitting by the football field after a hot practice or 2/days knowing that they had work to do when we were through--His parents produced 2 fine sons that I fondly remember from a time long ago--May God comfort this family in their time of grieving for a son gone too soon.
