Kelly Lawrence Brown

Obituary

Kelly Lawrence Brown Kelly was born in Phelps, WI on October 4, 1956, to Patrick and Sharon Brown. The family moved to Union Grove, WI when Kelly and his two brothers were young. Kelly spent most of his professional life employed by Piggly Wiggly in the Racine/Union Grove area where he worked as a Meat Cutter. In 2005, he moved to Brillion, WI and managed the meat department in yet another Piggly Wiggly store. He ended his working career at Wal-Mart in Green Bay, WI where he excelled in his role as Overnight Support Manager. Kelly had many hobbies including hunting, fishing, bowling, cooking, painting, drawing, skiing, camping, boating, photography, and having a cocktail or two with friends or family. Most recently, he enjoyed target practicing and driving his jeep through the Arizona Mountains. In 2011, Kelly was diagnosed with lung cancer, which he battled optimistically and courageously until Our Lord mercifully ended his suffering. In the early morning, on February 8, 2013, Kelly walked through Heaven’s gates and into God’s loving arms. Kelly will be sadly missed but never forgotten. He was a friend to all, a stranger to none, and his heart belonged to many who survived him, including his fiancée, Veronica Kehoe. He cherished his two amazing daughters, Kimberly (Nathan) Roberts, and Katelyn Brown. He treasured his brothers Patrick “Rick” (Jeanne) Brown and Dan (Deb) Brown. He was a father figure and friend to Veronica’s sons, Jonathan Jensen and Logan (Brooke) Rattin, and enjoyed being Grandpa to Aaron, Melissa, Rachel, and Abigail Roberts; as well as Bayleigh Schmoeker, and Keegan and Kendra Rattin. He loved his Uncle Dan (Marge) Kinner, and his grandfather John Caskey. He was proud to call his Stepfather, Jerry Knutson, “Dad”, and his X-Father-in-Law, Marty Pingle, “Friend”. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and members of Veronica’s family further survived Kelly. Kelly’s parents Patrick Brown and Sharon Kinner Brown Knutson, his maternal grandparents Lawrence Kinner and Stella Kinner Caskey, his paternal grandparents Kelly and Betty Brown, and his cousin Ross Krause preceded Kelly in death and were waiting to welcome him into the Kingdom of Heaven. Two Memorial Services will be held in memory of Kelly. The first will be held on February 23, 2013 at Twin Lakes Bible Church on Hwy. 17 in Phelps. Visitation will be from 10 a.m-11 a.m. A memorial service and luncheon will follow. The second will be held at Harvest Community Church, 6612 S. Howell Avenue, Oak Creek, WI on March 2, 2013.
