Larry A. Demant 
(August 2, 1957 - January 23, 2017) 

Sturtevant, WI – Larry A. Demant passed away Monday, January 23, 2017 at the age of 59 after a short period of declining health, surrounded by his family and his closest friends. Born on August 2, 1957 in Racine, WI, he is the son of Roy and the late Loretta (Dellis) Demant. After high school, Larry, along with his closest friends looked at life as a challenge. He feared nothing, loved hard, and made friends easily. He loved to laugh and make people laugh. Larry had many jobs over the years, sometimes twice but was restless and could never stay in one place too long. He loved driving trucks over the road, hitting all 48 continental states many times over. He could take anything apart and put it back together, quote Shakespeare, or simply walk past you on his hands with no effort. His range of knowledge and talents were amazing. To mention Larry’s name to anyone who knew him usually brought a quick smile as they remembered a joke or stunt that he pulled or that they pulled together. 

He is survived by his son, Justin King; his daughter, Shelby Casteel-Everett and her son, Cullen; his father, Roy Demant; four brothers, Lee (Patty) Demant, John (Linda) Demant, Dan, Jay (Giselle) Demant; and his favorite sister and favorite brother-in-law, Judy (Mike) LaFrania; as well as so many nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and cousins. He was proud to talk about his closest friends and the loyalty they shared. 

In addition to his mother, those who passed before him were his fiancé, Sharon Everett; his brother, Jerry Demant; and so many, many of his friends. 

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the ICU staff and doctors at Wheaton Franciscan Hospital in Franklin who gave Larry the best possible chance with comfort and dignitiy. You’ve earned your wings. 

Visitation will be held at Miller-Reesman Funeral Home on Friday, January 27 from 4-7 pm. Burial with memorial service will be at West Lawn Cemetery on Saturday, January 28 at 10:30 am.
