Ruth, Age 57, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 surrounded by her loving family, at her home. She was born February 7, 1957 to Arnold and Nancy (nee Bobzin) Peterson in Kenosha, WI. Ruth was a lifelong resident of Union Grove. She graduated from Union Grove High School and from Gateway Tech with a degree in Administrative Assistance. On July 7, 1979 she was united in marriage to Howard Dahl at the Union Grove Baptist Church. Ruth loved helping people and worked as a caregiver at Shepherds Baptist Ministry. She was a member of the Racine Bible Church, an AWANA leader and a previous member of the Racine County Women’s Farm Bureau. In her leisure time she enjoyed collecting numerous different collectables, going to rummage sales, spending time at the family cabin and was a very avid genealogist. More than anything, Ruth loved and treasured the time she spent with her family. Ruth is survived by her husband Howard, children; Tracey (Greg) Schaal, John Dahl, Mark Dahl, Teri Dahl, grandchildren; Makenzie, Ian, Matyson and Bayley Schaal. She is further survived by her siblings; Mary (Craig) Mentink, Jane Richards, Nellie (Doug) Welker and Amy Pelosi, mother-in-law, Delores Dahl, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, John Peterson and a sister-in-law Nancy Sallee. In Lieu of flowers the family has suggested memorials be made to the youth program at Racine Bible Church or the AWANA program at Raymond Christian Fellowship Church. Ruth’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Heartland Hospice staff and all the doctors, nurses and staff at Froedtert for their care and compassion.
