I was very saddened to hear of Steve's passing. I worked with Steve on a project several years ago. It was a joy to work with him.

From Dan Sayers:

Steve has been one of my models for how to live life in a gentle and unassuming manner, one of my most valuable life examples and I never told him.  Dan Sayers

Like all of you I was shocked to hear of Steve's passing.  Steve and I crossed paths every year or so and it was always a joy to see him.  His gentle soul and kind spirit radiated from him like a beacon.  I truly liked and admired him and I will try to emulate him.

I WAS VERY SAD IN HEARING ABOUT STEVE. WE MET IN THE 3RD GRADE AND WERE IN THE SAME CUB SCOUT PACK, PACK 3, DEN 3. STEVE WAS VERY KIND AND NICE THROUGHOUT HIS WHOLE LIFE. WE WERE GOING TO GET TOGETHER LAST YEAR IN CALIFORNIA IN THAT STEVE HAD SOME BUSINESS HE WAS ATTENDING TO. WE NEVER TOUCHED BASE, HOWEVER, WE DID EMAIL. I AM GLAD I ATTENDED THE REUNION AND WAS ABLE TO SEE STEVE. I WILL MISS HIM.

I, like all of you, was so sorry to learn of Steve's death.  My brother, Tom, was also a dear friend of Steve and Pam's and shared many good times with both of them.  I was told he was in rare form as Santa Claus on Christmas Eve.  As always, he brought joy to those around him.  I had a very special chat with him at the Fourth of July parade that I will always remember.  My thoughts are with his family and to all who loved him dearly.  Blessings,  Nancy Stewart Holmes

Farber, Larrimer and I enjoyed the hiking episodes during our scouting years - we really got to know our buddies while tramping through Indiana, Kentucky, and the Buckeye state as kids together.  Looking back, I recall Steve as a very happy young man with a good-natured sense of balance in his life - - never did see the guy become angry or sullen or out of sorts.

Like most midwestern Dads, Steve's most treasured legacy in life is his children.  Our thoughts are with Pam and the family. . . . .
