Stepen (Jerry) O'Gurk, 70, of Sauquoit, died suddenly on Saturday, March 13, 2011, at Faxton/Saint Lukes Hospital, after a brief illlness. He was born in Utica on January 21, 1941, the son of Stephenand Felicia Polzienc O'Gurk, and attended Our Lady of Loudes School and Utica Catholic Academy. Jerry lived throughout the mid-west and east coast, primarily residing many years in Florida. He worked most of his life as a Quality Control Engineer, traveling exclusively with his workin Defense Aeronautics and High Speed Transit. Prior to his passing, one of his passions was helping his daughter, Chris, to fullfill her dream as a photographer. She remembered his kindness, laughterand strong will. Those who knew him will remember hearing his opinions of life around him. Jerry lived in Sauquoit with his brother, Phil, who very much appreciated his work around the yard and his hobby of analyzing investments. His survivers include his two daughters, Marie Annette Donlan, of Stillwater, OK and Christine Lee O'Gurk, of Marana AZ; a son DanielO'Gurk and his wife, Michele, of Locust, NJ; his grandchildren, Jillian Keams,Megen Donlan, Tyler Collins, Bailey Bernard, Ryan Patrick Lee O'Gurk, Emily O'Gurk, Conner O'Gurk and Grace O'Gurk; a grat granddaughter, Abigail Keams; his brother, Philip L. O'Gurk, of Sauquoit; and his nephew, Philip S. O'Gurk, of Sauquoit. He was predeceased by a grandson, Michael Donl;an.
