On June 3, 1975, God opened the windows of heaven and blessed Linda Copeland Richardson with a beautiful bouncy baby girl, she would name, LaKicia Shanette Rhone.
Kicia, as she was fondly called, graduated from Lowndes High School in 1993, where she demonstrated her Viking pride as a cheerleader for many years. She went on to attend Valdosta Technical School and Valdosta State University concentrating in Accounting and Early Childhood Education.
At the age of 10, Kicia accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church. As a youth, Kicia was an active usher and choir member. Kicia also used her time, talent and treasure as a Vacation Bible School Teacher, pouring into the lives of youth. After several years of faithful service, she was appointed Director of the Music Ministry. She was employed at Miss Mother’s Day Care in Hahira, GA.
Kicia was a loving and doting mother as well as a strong disciplinarian. She believed there was nothing to good for her children and kept them active in church and school activities. Kicia’s strength for life will inspire the lives that she touched forever.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents: Frank and Doris Copeland.
The torch of her life will be carried on by her three children whom she adored: Marcus Rhone, DeAvion Manghram and Gia Rhone; her loving parents: Linda Richardson (Freddie) and Dudley Rhone; four sisters: Trudy Rhone, Lula Rhone, Cassandra Rhone, and Angela Davis; seven brothers: Joshua Richardson, Freddie Richardson, Lamar Richardson, Reggie Rhone, Derrick Trotten, Hakeem Rhone and Raphael Williams; aunts and uncles: Arney Copeland, Edith Hedgeman (Reginald), Alvin Copeland and Darlene Copeland; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
The celebration of life for the late Ms. Lakicia Shanette Rhone will be held Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 11:00am from the sanctuary of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Hahira, GA.
Dr. Norman Edwards will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Mt. Olive Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family request that you make a donation to the Kicia’s Kids Foundation at any 1st State Bank.
