Joshua Lee “Josh” Commander, 38, of Hahira, died Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at South Georgia Medical Center.. He was born Oct. 7, 1974, in Lowndes County to Jerry Don and Angela Georgie Adams Commander. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, 101st Airborne Division, with two tours of duty in Iraq.. He is survived by his wife, Amy Tillman Commander of Hahira; son, Fletcher Commander of Hahira; stepson, Jacob Dunbar of Hahira; stepdaughter, Kaitlyn Ashley of Hahira; grandson, Hayden Kemp of Hahira; father and mother, Jerry and Angie Commander of Valdosta; brother, Sam Commander of Quitman; sister, Jessica Commander of Valdosta; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Stan and Dianne Spell of Hahira; two nieces, Veda and Mahaley Commander; nephew, Christian Commander; uncles and aunts, Joe and Ann Commander, Larry and Susan Grooms; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Keen; biological mother, Jody Bowden.. Funeral service will held Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of Lovein Home with the Rev. Keith Sandlin officiating. Interment will be in Westview Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 1-2:30 p.m.
