Sue was a good friend back in high school days. I remember a very smart and talented young woman who sewed very well and made such a beautiful grad dress! It is sad that she cannot be with us to reminisce our high school days!
I miss you Sue and think of you often! Janet Zarowny
My earliest memories are of Sue & Ginni (Virginia Snelgrove). We grew up together in the same neighbourhood. We were just a few months apart in age. The neighbourhood was filled with children of all ages and we would have good times no matter what the time of year. Mike Vipond also lived in the neighbourhood.
Sue's parents had a cabin on Green Lake (near 70 Mile House). Sue's parents included Ginni & I on many of the trips to the cabin.
One time was a New Year's Eve vacation. Lake was frozen enough so it was safe to skate on. We had to shovel enough snow off to make a decent size rink. It was not smooth - as if a Zamboni had cleared it - but that was the fun & hilarious part. You never knew when you would hit a dip or mound of ice and end up doing a face plant!
Summers at Green Lake with Sue were very special. We went horseback riding with authentic cowboys. None of this "nose to tail" trail riding. Overnight rides and day long rides. Leverington's also had a 12-foot aluminium boat that we used for water skiing.
As we got older, Sue and my interests diverged, but we were always friends.
The summer of 74, Sue was spending time at Green Lake before starting university. She met with an accident while out on a horse ride. Resulting head injury reason for her death.
I miss you Sue. You had a temper, but that was part of your personality. You also could be quite the instigator when you felt "devilish". Rest in peace Sue.
