Maureen Child
Obituary
Maureen Child July 12 1947-November 19 2014 Much loved sister, aunt, cousin and friend passed away peacefully on November 19 2014. Maureen will be remembered for her loving, generous, caring spirit. And for the resilience and determination she showed throughout her life. Maureen was born in Vancouver on July 12 1947 to parents Mabel and Bert Child. She had a successful career with the federal government for over 35 years. When most people retire, they start moving into the slow lane of life. Not Maureen! She decided it was time to build her own house- a first time venture with impressive results. Maureen will be deeply missed and loving remembered by her sister, Shirley Hazzard, brothers Don (Lorraine) and Ron (Sherri), nephews Eric and Jeff, her extended family, and many friends. A celebration of Maureen's life will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, January 14 2015 at the Hazelmere Golf Course, 18150 8th Ave. Surrey. Should you wish to remember Maureen, donations may be made in her memory to: Senior Animals In Need Today Society for senior pets (www.saintsrescue.ca), Cyrus Centre Ministries for Youth (www.cyruscentre.com), or your favourite charity. We wish to express our deepest appreciation to Doctors Marazzi, Buczkowski, Yeomans, and "Judith", and the team of many angels who cared for Maureen during her 5-month journey. Gone too soon. Love You, Maureen! Published in Vancouver Sun and/or The Province from Jan. 9 to Jan. 10, 2015
