DOERKSEN, Laureen Gail (nee King) March 11, 1949 - January 19, 2010

Our dear Laureen passed away January 19, 2010, with her family at her side, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband Gary Morgan, daughter Stephanie (Graeme); brother Wayne King (Sinikka); niece Aliisa (John); nephews David (Aimee); Michael and grand nephew Graeme Sarte. As well, she is lovingly remembered by many dear friends. Laureen's passionate love for family and friends was her life's priority. Her determination, dignity and grace were evident in all of her endeavours. She made establishing personal connection with all she met a lifetime goal and touched the lives of many students, parents and colleagues in her many years in education. She will be deeply missed. Our family's heartfelt thanks and deep appreciation go to her family physician Dr. Angela Hutchinson and to Dr. Barbara Melosky and all the nursing staff at the B.C. Cancer Agency who supported Laureen and were with her on every step of her journey.

In lieu of flowers, we would ask that you support Stephanie who will honour her mother by participating in this Spring's Conquer Cancer bicycle ride. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 29, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Coquitlam Alliance Church - 2601 Spurway Avenue, Coquitlam, B.C.
