Obituary
RICHARDS, Robert James
September 22, 1947 - June 18, 2014
Robert "Bob" James Richards passed away at Windermere Care Centre in Vancouver, BC on Wednesday June 18, 2014 at the age of 66. Bob was predeceased by his mother, Eva and his father, Herbert. Bob is lovingly remembered by his son Christopher (wife Christina), grandchildren Avery and Benjamin, ex-wife Diane (and her children Carey and Michael), cousin Walter (wife Cathy), and all of his life-long buddies. Born in Vancouver, Bob graduated from Gladstone Secondary and earned a certificate in the Social Service Workers Program from Malaspina College (Nanaimo) in 1988. Bob gave us the gift of music, having written over 1,000 songs, recording over 100 at various studios, including the legendary Sun Studio in Memphis, Tennessee. He also had a passion for sports, playing football and softball throughout his life. Our family would like to thank the staff and caregivers at Windermere Care in Vancouver, and Mariposa Care in Osoyoos, who showed such compassion and care for Bob over the past year. We are all grateful for the happy times we were able to share with Bob during his life and we cherish the past year particularly. Keep singing Dad! The rock n' roll band in the sky just got better! In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the BC Cancer Foundation.
