Ken Mutter

Ken Mutter

Kennith Frederick Mutter was born in Abbotsford B.C., on Oct 19,1948 to Jim & Bertha Mutter (Tuck) and passed away suddenly by heart failure July 15, 2016, in Comox B.C., while out riding his bike.

Ken, with his family, lived in several locations through his childhood before the family settled in East Vancouver, growing up like all Canadian boys playing various sports, as a Cub & Scout, attending the United Church Sunday School and visiting his many family friends and relatives, being especially fond of the Mutter Farm in Clearbrook B.C.

He attended Gladstone Highschool and then graduated from Simon Fraser University in 1971.  After University Ken took a job on Northern Vancouver Island were he worked at several locations for Canfor & its subsidiary to his retirement about 10 years ago.  He then moved to the Comox Valley were he was able to pursue his passion for outdoor activities.

Ken is survived by his brother & wife, Jim & Judy Mutter, and his sister & husband, Peg & Fred Baaske, and his many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by his parents, he will rest alongside them at the Masonic Cemetery in Burnaby B.C.

A Celebration of life will be held later this summer.

Yes, Ken will be sadly missed!  We were the best of friends through high school and kept in touch throughout 50 years of his career as the camp acountant in Woss, B.C. and retirement as I moved around in my career in the RCAF, Canadian Airborne Regiment and the Royal Canadian Navy.

Ken was the Best Man at my wedding, a week after my return from my U.N. Peacekeeping in Egypt.  As a wedding gift, Ken give my bride and myself a 4-day flight and hotel accommodation for our honeymoon in Las Vegas!  We were overwhelmed!

In 2015, Ken, Dianne Taft and I had dinner at Joey's Restaurant in Coquitlam which was probably one of the last times Ken was photographed!
