Joan Oldegbers

June 17, 1948 – October 25, 2022

Joan was born June 17, 1948 in Hoogeveen, Holland.  Joan immigrated with her family to Canada in 1955.  They resided in Vancouver, British Columbia.  In 1967, Joan moved to Edmonton, Alberta with a girlfriend.  Here she met and married Gerald Oldegbers.  They had six children: Jason (Melodie), Lori, Kevin, Brian, Michael (Kelly) and Diane.  They also shared nine grandchildren: Brendan, Ryen, Jonathan, Liam, Rowin, Vada, Mikayla, Jakob and Samantha.  Joan was a stay at home mom for many years but returned to shcool in 2001.  She worked as a nursing aide at the Edmonton General Hospital for 16 years and retired in 2018.  Joan loved to read, work on her crossword puzzles, volunteer in the community and spend time with her family.  Joan will be lovingly remembered by her family and all those who knew her.
