The following is the obituary from the Vandalia Leader Union:

Jerrod Ray Beckman, 36, Vandalia, died at 7:25am on Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia.
Services will be held at 10am on Friday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Vandalia, with the Rev. Peter Kolb officiating. Burial will be in the Welch Cemetary, Ramsey. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Thursday and an hour before the services on Friday, both at the church. Holt and File Funeral Home in Vandalia is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials: Alexis and Aleia Beckman Account at National Bank, 520 W. Gochenour St. Vandalia.
Mr. Becknam was born on Aug. 16, 1971, in Vandalia, the son of Jeffery and Ramona Thomas Beckman.
He was a self-employed carpentar.
He is survived by his parents; daughters, Alexis and Aleia Beckman of Vandalia; sister, Jessie Jo Beckman and fiance Brandon Lorton of St. Louis; special friend, Jamie Elmore of Vandalia; grandparents, Maribelle and her husband Raymond Alender of Vandalia, and Nina and Lorel Williams of Ramsey.
He was preceded in death by a grandfather, Elmer Beckman; and grandparents, Asa and Freeda Thomas.
