Mark Simrall

Mark SimrallREDWOOD - Mark M. Simrall died Saturday, July 21, 2007, in Sharkey County. He was 39.

Mr. Simrall was director of Ballground Plantation. A lifelong resident of Redwood, he was a member of First Presbyterian Church. He was a graduate of St. Aloysius High School, where he received the Virgadamo Award. He attended the University of Southern Mississippi, where he was a member of SAE fraternity, serving as rush chairman.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. B. Newell Simrall Jr. and Mr. and Mrs. John Warren Karsten Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Lori Hackler Simrall of Vicksburg; one stepdaughter, Danielle Pecanty of Vicksburg; his father, Newell Simrall III; his mother, Kay Karsten Jones of Elizabethton, Tenn.; three brothers, Karsten Simrall and wife, Holley, of Vicksburg, Newell Simrall IV and wife, Sweyn, of Jackson and Daniel "De" Ferguson and wife, Stacey, of Bovina; one sister, Rea Simrall Leist and husband, DeWayne, of Redwood; and 10 nieces and nephews.

Services were at the First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Tim Erskine officiating. Burial at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Tom Lee, Kylan Love, Kevin Love, Keaton Love, Sam Thigpen, Albert Dornbusch and James Carter.

Honorary pallbearers were J.O. Smith III, Bill McWright, Rufus Jeffery, Mel Ragan, Don Jeffery, Jerry Burroughs, Martin Pace and members of the Warren County Sheriff's Department.
