Pauline Owens (Teacher)

OWENS, Pauline

May 14, 1944 - January 28, 2009

Peacefully, after a long battle with lupus and a brief battle with cancer, Pauline passed away Wednesday night in Ladysmith. Pauline was born in Bolton, Lancashire, emigrating to Canada as a child. She attended SJ Willis, Victoria High School and UVic. She taught French at Lord Byng High School in Vancouver and Reynolds High School in Victoria for many years. She lived in Gordon Head, North Saanich, Oak Bay and Ladysmith and has left many good friends. She often took students on trips to France during the summer. Ill health forced early retirement. Pauline loved her pets, garden and house plants. Pauline is survived by cousins in Canada and Europe. She will be especially missed by friends, Nan and Gabe, Lorelie, Alma, Joyce and Val. At her request, no service will be held and her remains will be cremated.
