She and I were best friends starting in Junior High. New Years of 1958 I went to visit her and spend the night. We went to Schroder Hall to the dance and it was there that I met my future husband, Carl A. Johnson, Jr. She was my maid of honor at my wedding and we remained friends for many years. She was an outstanding artist and I so wish that we could have just one more visit.
I had a couple dates with Penny...I used to visit her out at her Granmother's place..."Dun-Roamin" on Shroeder Road...
Penny looked me up after I came home from the Navy...She had returned to Victoria from Denver... She wanted to renew a friendship...But, at that time, I had just got engaged...After that, I understand she went back to Denver...and died of a drug overdose...That was probably in 1967...
She was a sweet person...who needed a lot of love and care...
