My father was a very strong, independent and active man and my hero! He served in the Navy on the USS Oklahoma. After leaving the military, he worked at DuPont for 25 years. He retired and took a job at Texas Sampling for a few years to keep him busy. When his ex-wife (my mother) became terminally ill, He took care of her untiol she had to be put into a nursing home. Even then, he visited her several times every day until she passed away in 2005. He was a wonderful cook whose stews, gumbos, and brisket bar-b-que were always appreciated. He could build or fix just about anything, and kept a garden in which he grew the most amazing tomatoes and beautiful roses. He loved playing dominoes at the American Legion and hunting. I am so very proud of him, and I miss him so...

I remember Joe from our "Hot Rod" days in school, and after! Even then,he could always fix almost anything that ran.He had a good sense of humor as well as a lot of friends. We lost track of each other when we went into the Navy, but after we returned home,we saw each other from time to time.I an very sorry that he has left us,but I know that he has gone to a better place! He will be truly missed, and honored forever.I hope his family finds comfort soon, and my best to all of them!

I didn't know Joe..."Mouse"...as we called him had been in the Navy...I think I ran into him at DuPont while I was working on the plant telephone system with Southwestern Bell as a PBX Repairman.

He was a pleasant happy character while we were growing up...

Steady As You Go, Mate !

Respy, Carl Ivan Dobsky
