Sor Virginia (Lydia Ferino) passed away on Oct. 16, 2016 in Manila Philippines. She had been ill with diabetes complications until her death at the age of 75. She is survived by her sister Teresita Ferino Sarmiento, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She graduated from Ilocos Sur High School in March 1957 as 2nd Honorable Mention.  After graduating from college  with an Education degree she taught in La Union in 1961 before entering the Convent in 1962 to become a nun. Sor Virginia was affiliated with the St. Scholastica's College in Manila until her retirement.
