Bobby Leonard Byrd of Clinton, MD, a native of Spartanburg, SC, and a devoted father, brother, uncle and friend, died on April 20, 2007. Bobby was a Branch Chief for the US Department of Agriculture in Washington, DC. He was a federal employee for 36 years. As a Master Sergeant in the United States Army Reserves, he served for 29 years. He was an Honor graduate of Fayetteville State University and a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.

Survivors include his sons, Andre, Andrew and Robert Byrd of Clinton, MD; daughter, Barbara James (Douglas) of Atlanta, GA; stepmother, Dorothy Byrd of Spartanburg, SC; Andrea Byrd, loving mother of Andre and Andrew; three sisters, Deotha Bobo (Raymond) of Clinton, MD, Rose Barksdale of Atlanta, GA, Joyce Long of Spartanburg; seven brothers, Stanley Byrd (Peggy), William Byrd and Howard Butler (Mae Pearl) of Spartanburg, Eddie Byrd (Patricia) of Columbia, MD, Freddie Byrd of Greenville, SC, Roosevelt Booker of Statesville, NC, and Gerald Jackson (Benita) of Charlotte, NC; seven grandchildren, eight nephews, seven nieces and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 25, 2007 from 6 to 8 p.m at POPE FUNERAL HOMES FORESTVILLE CHAPEL, P.A, 5538 Marlboro Pk., Forestville, MD. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 28, 2007 at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Spartanburg, SC at 4 p.m.
