VIRGINIA BEACH - Michael Francis Rivers, 33, died Sept. 14, 2002. Michael was born in Leominster, Mass. He was a 1989 graduate of Kempsville High School. Survivors include his mother, Elizabeth Rivers Kennedy and stepfather, John Kennedy of Norfolk; sisters, Teresa C. Rivers of Jacksonville, Fla., and Tracy Burnett of Virginia Beach. A Mass of the Resurrection was held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Norfolk by Father John Dorgan. Burial was at St. Mary's Cemetery in Norfolk. A Christian wake service was held at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
