Jeremy Wayne Meyst Tulare County Sheriff's Deputy, Jeremy Wayne Meyst, 31, of Visalia, California passed away on Tuesday morning, December 24, 2013 in Exeter, California from injuries sustained in a vehicle accident. Jeremy was born in Oxnard, California on June 3, 1982 to Judy Cox Meyst and Gerald Wayne Meyst. He came with his family to Visalia when he was a small child. Jeremy attended Crestwood Elementary, La Joya Middle School and graduated from Mt. Whitney High School in 2001. While attending Mt. Whitney he was a member of the Pioneer Football Team, playing the position of Offensive Lineman. His senior year, the Pioneers won the Cowhide - he was so proud. Following graduation he attended College of Sequoias for a short time and worked at Longs and Walgreens. While working there, Jeremy made lots of friends with his sweet and caring personality. Jeremy met Sarah Elizabeth Jack during that time at COS and they were married in Visalia on April 26, 2003. To this union was born two beautiful sons, Joshua Wayne and Eric Jack, whom Jeremy loved being a father to. He was wonderful with both of his sons and they went with him everywhere they could. In 2004 Jeremy began his career with Tulare County Sheriff's Department, attaining the rank of Sheriff's Deputy and loved every minute there. He had a great sense of humor, enjoyed playing golf, running, motorcycle riding, and baseball - Jeremy was an avid Dodger Fan. He most loved being surrounded by his family and friends. Jeremy will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God." Matthew 5:9 Jeremy leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Sarah of Visalia; two loving sons, Joshua Wayne and Eric Jack, both of Visalia; his loving mother, Judy Meyst of Visalia; his father, Gerald Meyst of Visalia; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many, many friends. Jeremy was preceded in death by his grandparents from both his mother and father's side. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2014 from 5 - 8 p.m. at Miller Memorial Chapel, 1120 W. Goshen Avenue in Visalia. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 6, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Visalia First Assembly of God Church, 3737 S. Akers (corner of Caldwell and Akers) in Visalia, California. Burial will follow at the Visalia District Cemetery, 1300 W. Goshen Avenue in Visalia, CA.
